I have never used a precious plastic machine (though I would like;)) but I think I have the answer to your question by watching the videos of precious plastic: “How to finish precious plastic object” or something similar.
To make large dense cubes they make a welded mold ( outer part and a “pusher” ) which they put in the compression…[Read more]
My current machine uses this 5″ bore cylinder:
I’ve also built a machine using a 4″ bore cylinder:
I’ll upload an image of that machine.
The smaller cylinder should be adequate for most…[Read more]
We want to upgrade our injector to have pneumatics. Do you have the details on the pneumatic cylinder you used? How large of a volume tank do you need on your compressor for that cylinder? Any lessons learned that you can share with us before we start? Thanks!
I am mainly responsible for the research and sales of various agricultural machinery. For example, the agricultural machinery I have learned is peanut sheller, corn harvester, corn thresher, fish pellet machine, transplanter, seedling machine and so on.
I note after a bit of an absence that the current Precious Plastic members on the map are different from the ones listed before. So, I’m wondering how to get in touch with those who have left the community, to see if they have machines to sell. I’ve contacted those close to me in Seoul, but in two weeks.. no replies. 🙁
I have had the same discussion for years!!! But I think more and more people are making molds, so I hope the prices get down, so the complexity. In Mexico we are looking for alternatives, for example we use the inyection machine to melt the plastic and the use a press https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0LP8aTaj_0&t=92s

Basically I extrude into a heated pot, then transfer the blob of hot plastic to the air powered compression molder.
Mold is liquid cooled.
average 2 min per part. 1.5 min to cool, 30 seconds to remove.
– Which should be the thickness of the metal sheets to use? 3 mm or 4 mm
– Should the mold need to be structured? what do yo mind?
– Do the parts need to be CNC cut? yes is better but most expensive
– and any further detail that could help me to make a good mold.
what are the units in te drawing?
You have to decide the thinknes of the product a…[Read more]
